My client a growing government contractor in the greater Columbia, MD area is actively seeking to add a Project Accounting Analyst due to growth. As a Project Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting our government contracting projects. You will be responsible for managing financial transactions, analyzing budgets, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with government regulations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage project budgets, expenses, and revenue recognition.

• Perform cost analysis and variance reporting to track project performance.

• Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.

• Ensure compliance with government regulations and contract requirements.

• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

• Assist with audits and reviews to maintain financial integrity and transparency.

  Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• CPA or CMA certification preferred.

• 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in government contracting.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong understanding of GAAP and government accounting principles.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
