Job Description Summary
The Manager Financial Accounting is responsible for leadership of the general accounting areas of Southeast Health and assigned subsidiaries. Responsibilities include timely preparation of monthly and year-to-date financial statements, annual operating and capital budget preparation, annual audit, account reconciliations, financial analysis, capital tracking, grant accounting, statistical tracking, intercompany transaction management and productivity monitoring reports. The Manager Financial Accounting must be able to facilitate the flow of information and communication between accounting and other areas of the organization as well as outside agencies. The manager is responsible for leadership and participation in improvement events and must use critical thinking skills for problem resolution.
Job Description
Essential Functions
Ensures accurate and timely preparation of monthly and annual financial reporting within the 5-day close deadline.
Effectively manages day-to-day operations of the general accounting team and effectively participates in all accounting functions including payroll, accounts payable and medical group accounting.
Ensures accuracy of productivity reporting
Effectively leads capital and operating budget preparation and reporting
Manages cash, investment and debt accounts effectively and accurately
Accurately analyzes and adjusts assigned reserve funds
Responsible for timely balance sheet reconciliations
Manages grant accounting to ensure grants are identified and requirements are met according to grant awards
Possesses and applies understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and follows Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) requirements including new pronouncements.
Assists management and administrative team members as well as external auditors as needed

Qualifications
Minimum Experience Required
3 to 5 years of accounting leadership experience required
Experience working in a fast-paced environment?
Minimum Experience Preferred
3 to 5 years in healthcare financial accounting or accounting management experience preferred
Workday experience preferred.
Minimum Education Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in accounting
Minimum Education Preferred
- CPA or MBA
Required Skills/Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated ability to communicate and organize thoughts, concepts, ideas verbally and in writing with precise word usage, clear meaning, good presentation, vocabulary, grammar and correct spelling
Proven leadership experience
Knowledge and application of accounting principles
Knowledge of GASB requirements
Maintains poise under pressure and is able to navigate sensitive conversations and relationships
Ability to communicate with Executive Management and employees at all levels
