What you'll do
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting both interior and exterior tasks related to repairing, maintaining, cleaning, and renovating buildings and rooms. You will travel to various communities and oversee maintenance to ensure they are kept safe and comfortable.
Community Maintenance
- Performs interior and exterior repair, general maintenance, housekeeping and remodeling of buildings and rooms.
- Completes cleaning tasks, inspection, and final walk through of turned-over and renovated rooms to ensure they are clean and completely ready for move-ins.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and systems are operating efficiently.
- Conduct routine inspections of community building, equipment, and grounds to identify maintenance needs.
- Performs housekeeping tasks to ensure building and common areas are sanitary and tidy.
Documentation & Compliance
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs and inspections.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment needed for maintenance tasks.
- Tracks expenses related to the care of the building and grounds.
- Manage and maintain an accurate inventory tag system for all equipment, furniture and other community owned property.
- Participates in inspections by authorized government agencies, this includes the Health Department and Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
- Provides education to team members and residents on Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and ensures that building is in compliance with requirements.
- Attend event, educational seminars, and Fair Housing Compliance meetings.
What it takes
- High school diploma
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a maintenance / environmental service related field.
- Must possess a valid unrestricted state of Michigan driver's license.
- Position requires travel to various communities and being available for on-call duties
