JOB SUMMARY

As an IT Quality Manager at Polaris you will play a critical role supporting the establishment, growth, and maturation of the quality operating system governing Polaris digital and IT products. This role reports directly into the VP of D&IT Quality and serves on our central Quality team to drive methodologies, artifacts, tools and metrics that are used and implemented by the digital product and development teams.

The IT Quality Manager will bring a highly consultative approach and mindset, along with a unique mix of skills ranging from Quality Program/Systems Management, Change Management and Process Improvement. These skills allow them to act as an easily deployable resource to a variety of situations that cross multiple IT functions (IT Engineering, Digital. Data and Infrastructure) and Product Groups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Technology Operations Quality:

  • Define, implement, and manage IT quality processes to ensure on-time deployments for major releases, project and program release quality assurance, and hypercare quality assurance.

  • Provide oversight to D&IT teams on PFMEA, Process Control Plan (CP) and/or Release Plan development, implementation, and continuous improvement.

  • Monitor D&IT team deliverables to ensure software is developed per standards and consistent/efficient delivery.

  • Define and execute D&IT Quality Audit Program.

  • Develop control procedures ensuring pre-release IT system and process plans meet quality specifications and standards.

  • Develop and track internal metrics, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and lead improvement initiatives.

  • Formulate Quality Audit data to communicate to D&IT Senior Staff and Engineering Team Managers during Project / Quality Management Reviews.

  • Identify and share Quality improvement opportunities across the D&IT teams.

  • Support or lead failure analysis, root cause and corrective action investigations.

  • Generate Quality procedures as needed to contain quality issues, assist with process validation, and drive standardization.

  • Conduct research on D&IT system defects and recommend modifications to processes or quality standards where warranted.

Product IT Quality:

  • Provide support to connected vehicle product (Ride Command) team to ensure end-to-end product quality.

  • Formulate Quality Audit data to communicate to D&IT and Product Team Managers during Project / Quality Management Reviews.

  • Identify and share Quality improvement opportunities across the product team.

  • Support or lead failure analysis, root cause and corrective action investigations.

  • Generate Quality procedures as needed to contain quality issues, assist with process validation, and drive standardization.

Global D&IT Quality:

  • Support D&IT Quality Operating System (QOS) administration (e.g., communications, training, support, reporting).

  • QOS Quality priority improvement operational and project management support, as needed.

  • Facilitate Monthly / Quarterly reporting and follow up.

  • Support D&IT policy and standard creation and maintenance.

  • Monitor compliance to D&IT processes and standards, and measure and report quality performance.

  • Identify, communicate, and support implementation of process and standard improvements to prevent issues and improve overall D&IT Quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Quality, or related technical field is required (Master’s Degree preferred).

  • 7+ years of overall IT experience with increasing responsibility and broad cycles of experience

  • 5+ years’ experience working in an IT Quality function and/or Quality organization supporting design, development and implementation of a Quality Operating System (QOS)/Quality Management System (QMS) including associated KPIs

  • 3+ years of program/project management experience, preferably driving large-scale processes and change

  • Advanced knowledge of IT Quality policies, procedures, and standards

  • Experience in development and deployment of software (packages or custom), software reliability/quality management, software testing, software test automation processes and tools in an Agile environment

  • Strong collaboration and analytical skills with outstanding written and oral communication skills; Ability to lead, collaborate, influence, and coordinate activities in a cross functional, team-oriented environment to deliver technology applications or technical products

  • Strong initiative with the ability to manage projects of varying complexity and timelines simultaneously

  • Ability to package and syndicate a message, garner support, drive and document vision / strategy, plan & organize, providing progress on multiple projects

  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently without supervision

Ideal Candidates Have:

  • Advanced knowledge of IT Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), IT General Software Controls, IT Change Control / Incident Management, and Root Cause Analysis / Corrective & Preventative Action processes.

  • Advanced knowledge of IT development, deployment and quality management systems and tools including, but not limited to ISO 9001 / CMMI, HP Quality Center / IBM Rational Quality Manager, Agile, Lean / Six Sigma / Kaizen, Jira (work management), ADO (deployment), ServiceNow (Incident and CAPA management).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Hybrid working model (in-office/home). Schedule based on business need.
