Summary You will serve as a WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities You will perform water treatment tasks such as pumping, treating, sorting, and distributing raw and finished potable water through the water systems. You will repair and maintain water distribution systems including elevated and ground level water storage tanks, pumps, underground lines and associated buildings. You will maintain and repair vacuum pumps, Hydraulic press, and Chlorine Gas Injectors. You will operate potable and non-potable pumping stations and wells with use of remote control device. You will monitor flow meters and charts to maintain efficiency and control formation of pollutants in water or distribution systems. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires rotating shift work.
