About the role:

We are seeking a skilled and strategic HR Business Partner to join our team on-site at our manufacturing facility in Vaughn, Ontario . As the sole HR Business Partner for the site, you will play a pivotal role in aligning human resources strategies with our manufacturing objectives, fostering a culture of excellence, and empowering our workforce to reach their full potential. Our ideal candidate will have over 3 years ofrecentexperience in a manufacturing facility . You should have a strong relationship with Union partners and be familiar with the grievance and arbitration process. Additionally, you will have collaborated closely with plant leaders to drive effective people strategies that enhance the business environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Support our manufacturing facility in Vaughn by implementing programs to help improve the employee experience, including but not limited to administrating the onboarding program.

  • Provide high-quality advice and service to site management on employee relations and performance management issues.

  • Act as the primary contact for Leave of Absence, Payroll, Bonus Payments, Employee Referral payments & Tuition Reimbursement inquiries from our associates.

  • Primary point of contact for Worker’s Comp related incidents – guiding associates through reporting incidents, following up on status and appointments and helping to close out the case.

  • Provide proactive recruiting assistance in partnership with our Talent Acquistion team by participating in selection and placement of candidates to help drive quality and timeliness of hires.

  • Partner with Area Director of HR and hiring managers to appropriately evaluate and update position descriptions and salary grade alignment.

  • Support implementation and administration of employee policies and identify ways to improve them.

  • Audit ADP and HR SuccessFactors periodically to ensure org structure, cost centers and job titles are accurate.

  • May be asked to create and distribute internal communications regarding various HR related items within the facility.

  • Support talent management processes and help identify plant specific needs.

  • Collaborate with HRDs and leaders to improve employee morale and company culture.

  • Conduct exit interviews

How You'll Do It:

  • Ability to build credibility with all levels of the organization

  • Detail oriented

  • Critical skills include: motivation, initiative, thoroughness, decision making and planning skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Experience with LEAN processes and tools

  • Experience with SAP, Success Factors systems and Microsoft Office applications

  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced organization experiencing transformation

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years related experience managing HR in a manufacturing environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Management, Business or related field

  • Canadian Union Experience / Negotiations with unions as first chair (required)

  • PHR / SHRM Certification Preferred
