As a QC Chemist, you will be responsible for performing routine physical, analytical and microbial testing of raw materials, intermediates and finishes goods, use standard laboratory instrumentation to perform analysis, developing and validating documents, writing physical testing component identification testing methods and for the adequate supply of reagents and maintenance of equipment to carry out daily laboratory operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performs routine physiochemical and microbial testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished goods using standard equipment and techniques under supervision and cross-check of laboratory manager.

• Develops, validates and writes new testing methods and writes all applicable validation data for protocol approval by laboratory manager.

• Responsible for procedural and documentation adherence of laboratory operation to good laboratory practices (GLP).

• Responsible for adequate reagent and miscellaneous supply as well as laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance.

• Conducts out-of-spec (OOS) investigation and writes up reports.

• Responsible for the overall operation of the laboratory.

• Perform any other duties

Qualifications:

• 2+ years in the pharmaceutical industry in preferred but not needed

• Thorough knowledge of standard equipment (FT-IR, UV/VIS spectrophotometer, KF apparatus, dissolution and disintegration apparatus, HPLC, GC, et.), and standard techniques (liquid and gas chromatography) to carry out routine testing.

• Advanced analytical and math skills, statistical programming knowledge required.

• Computer literate, including knowledge of standard software packages.

• Ability to troubleshoot HPLC and GC and perform "root cause analysis."

• Familiar with Waters 'alliance series' HPLC-using 'empower' programming and Agilent model #7890 GC and Schott Auto-Titrator preferred.
